Cassia Streb is a Los Angeles based violist and composer who works primarily in the fields of experimental and contemporary music. Most recently, she is working with the concept of integrating electronic music with acoustic string instruments by attaching small, homemade speakers to the body of the instrument and playing field recordings through the acoustic instrument . She is also producing and recording an album of some of the more politically inspired works of American composer, Christian Wolff. Cassia is also a founding member of the Southland Ensemble, a group dedicated to the performance of contemporary music by composers born after 1910. She is very happy to be working with the Industry on this collaborative project.
