Isaac Schankler is a composer and accordionist living in Los Angeles. His music has been described as "powerful" (Sequenza21), "ingenious" (The Artificialist), "masterfully composed" (Boston Musical Intelligencer), and "the antidote to sentimentality" (LA Times). As an accordionist, he has recently been a featured performer with Talea Ensemble, the New Music Gathering, and the Pasadena AxS Festival. Schankler is the artistic director of People Inside Electronics, a concert series devoted to the performance of live electroacoustic music in Los Angeles. He currently teaches composition, music technology, and music theory at the University of Southern California.
