Born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, Mona has been playing the Trumpet since age eight. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the Conservatory of Music in Berne, Switzerland, and a Master's Degree in Trumpet Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. After enjoying her dream city New York and performing with an Afro Beat Band and Circus Amok, in 2002 she relocated to Southern California to attend the California Institute of the Arts for Post Graduate studies. Mona auditioned for the Grammy Award winning Mariachi Divas, of which she became a full time member for 2 years. Since its opening in 2003 she also has been performing regularly at the Cathedral Our Lady of the Angeles. In 2010 her and Hector Rivera's original rock band No Matter What! was born. Their music consists of original songs recorded in both English and Spanish, features Mona's trumpet playing and both of their vocals. Besides performing various styles of Music she has been enjoying teaching Brass instruments and Parent and Kids classes for many years.
